My week on safari in Zambia marked the first time I've vacationed solo and my first time in sub-Saharan Africa. I'm crazy about wildlife so I figured that even if I wasn't travelling with anybody else, it wouldn't bother me so much. In my mind, I was mainly there to spend see the animals that I grew up watching in Attenborough documentaries. Luckily, I got to not only experience some incredible moments with animals in their natural habitats but also met a lot of fantastic people (shout out in particular to the U.S. Peace Corps!). As far as wildlife highlights, I saw a leopard stalking an impala, lions hunting at night and a Nile crocodile feasting on a dead elephant carcass - unforgettable.
