Raja Ampat, Indonesia

As noted by Yoland Bosiger, assistant producer: "The Planet Earth III team stayed [...] on the tiny island of Kri in Raja Ampat [...] Kri also provides access to a lesser-known habitat: blue water mangroves [...] a sanctuary for juvenile fish. One such fish, the archerfish, fascinated the Planet Earth III team because of their ability to dislodge insects from the mangrove’s leaves." [1] Note: It is possible that this species is the largescale archerfish (Toxotes chatareus), but that species tends to be sootier in colour vs. the silvery colour in the animals filmed. Moreover, banded archerfish are abundantly present in Raja Ampat, while photographic records of largescale archerfish, at least by my research, appear scant.
